# Billing and credits

> Add credits, turn on auto top-up, set a monthly spending limit and remove the watermark.

Talking Avatar is prepaid: credits in, avatar and voice agent minutes out. The **Billing** page shows your balance, the prices, and every setting that controls spending.

## Balance

The **Available balance** card shows your balance and roughly how many avatar minutes ($0.02 each) or voice agent minutes ($0.06 each) it buys. It also shows whether a card is saved for auto top-up.

When the balance is below \$0.02, sessions and calls can't start until you add credits.

## Add credits

**1. Click Add credits**

On **Billing** or **Overview**.

**2. Choose an amount**

Pick **$10**, **$25**, **$50** or **$100**, or enter a custom amount from **$5 to $1,000**. The dialog shows the minutes it buys.

**3. Pay**

Click **Continue to checkout** and pay by credit or debit card on the secure Dodo Payments page. Taxes may apply.

You return to **Billing**, and the credits appear within a few seconds of paying.

## Auto top-up

Auto top-up charges your saved card when your balance drops below a threshold, so avatars and calls never stop mid-week.

**1. Turn it on**

In the **Auto top-up** card, switch it to **Enabled**.

**2. Set the amounts**

* \*\*When below ($):** the threshold, from $1 to $1,000. Default $5.
* \*\*Add ($):** how much to add each time, from $5 to $1,000. Default $25.

**3. Save**

Click **Save**. The first time, the button reads **Save & add card**: you add a card on a secure Dodo Payments page. Saving a card doesn't charge it.

Your balance is checked when a session starts and every 30 seconds while sessions run, so a top-up usually lands before credits run out. Only one auto top-up charge runs at a time.

Turn it off at any time by switching it to **Disabled** and clicking **Save**.

## Monthly spending limit

A hard cap on what your account spends each month. When this month's spend reaches it, avatar sessions and voice agent calls stop, **including ones in progress**, until the limit resets on the 1st of next month (UTC).

1. In the **Monthly spending limit** card, switch it to **Enabled**.
2. Enter a \*\*Limit per month ($)**, from $1 to \$100,000.
3. Click **Save**.

The card shows a progress bar of this month's spend, running sessions included, and a **Reached** badge once you hit the limit. To lift the limit, raise it or switch it off.

> [!TIP]
>
> A spending limit is a good safety net for public voice agents: anyone with the link can call them, and every call is billed to you.

## Remove watermark

Avatar videos show a small **Powered by Talking Avatar** in the bottom-right corner, and voice agent share pages and embeds show a *Powered by Talking Avatar* link.

To remove both from every session, click **Remove for \$19/month** and subscribe on the checkout page. The card then shows **Removed**. The subscription renews monthly; if it ends, the watermark returns.

## Credit history

Every change to your balance, newest first:

| Description | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Credits added · Free sign-up credit** | The \$1 every new account gets |
| **Credits added · Top-up** | Credits you bought |
| **Credits added · Auto top-up** | Credits added by auto top-up |
| **Avatar session** | A billed session or voice agent call |
| **Adjustment** (marked *manual*) | A correction made by our team |

Each row shows the amount (credits in green with a +, usage with a −) and the balance after it.

## Low balance emails

We email you when your balance runs low, at most once a day, so you can top up before sessions stop.

## Good to know

* A session that's live when your balance runs out is stopped at the next 30-second check. Your balance can dip slightly below zero; the next top-up covers it.
* Credits are non-refundable and non-transferable, except where the law requires otherwise. If you think you were charged in error, email [support@talking-avatar.dev](mailto:support@talking-avatar.dev) within 30 days.
